I am Brenda Solmi a travel blogger from argentina and this is my first hand ecolodge samana experience.<\/span><\/p>\n

The journey from Samana to El Valle began with a straightforward taxi ride, a 20-dollar trip that felt like a gateway to a hidden paradise. As the taxi wound its way through lush landscapes, anticipation grew for the natural retreat awaiting at the ecolodge. I do have to say the road is a bit bumpy and in no way you can imagine what you\u2019ll find at the end.<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n

Upon arrival, el valle ecolodge samana welcomed me with its thoughtful design and gentle integration into the environment. The lodge\u2019s commitment to sustainability was evident in every detail: from the low, ambient lights that preserved the nighttime serenity to the low chemical water treatment system and the thriving herb garden that complemented the lodge\u2019s culinary offerings.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

My room was nr.6, a cabin by the river with sliding doors allowing to open or close off as preferred. The king size bed, comfy mattress and bathrobes brought a sense of luxury to the experience. Yes, you are in the jungle, but surrounded by comfort. The setting is integrated with nature, so if you need AC and blackouts to sleep, this is probably not for you. I was looking for an authentic vibe and being able to feel like sleeping in a tent but with the amenities of a boutique hotel.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span>Exploration began with a visit to El Casta\u00f1o waterfall, a pristine cascade tucked away in the forest.<\/span><\/p>\n

The hike to the waterfall was invigorating but easy at about 40 min and low inclination, leading to a spot where cool clear waters tumbled over rocks into a refreshing pool. Swimming there felt like reconnecting with nature in its purest form. I went with guide Jose Luis, who has been doing this trail forever and is a delight to be around.<\/span><\/p>\n

Wouldn\u2019t recommend going alone since there are some spots where the road is not that clear or you can take a secondary one and end up god knows where.<\/span><\/p>\n

This exploration ended with a visit to Don Federico\u2019s house, a local gem where I learned about traditional artisanal coffee and cacao farming. Watching Don Federico work was like stepping into a living history of the region\u2019s agricultural practices. The cacao, rich and unadulterated by sugar or chemicals, offered a true taste of nature\u2019s unfiltered sweetness.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Mornings at the ecolodge were blissfully slow, beginning with serene yoga sessions that aligned perfectly with the tranquil surroundings.<\/span><\/p>\n

Breakfast followed, featuring fresh local produce that showcased the lodge\u2019s dedication to both taste and sustainability, which I always accompanied with some reading in the restaurant\/common area with views of the river and jungle.<\/span><\/p>\n

Beach followed, getting there in a 5 min walk from the lodge and making it super comfortable to go back and forth. It is remarkable to find a virgin beach with no construction around to taint the visual, and little to no people!<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Throughout my stay, I met fellow travelers from various corners of the globe. Conversations flowed easily over meals and shared experiences, creating a sense of camaraderie and mutual appreciation for the natural beauty of El Valle.<\/span><\/p>\n

Definitely fueled by the local expat crew, that get together every night and create moments for everyone to mingle.<\/span><\/p>\n

Every element of the ecolodge\u2014from its commitment to preserving the natural environment to its focus on providing a genuine, unspoiled experience\u2014made this retreat truly special. Departing El Valle, I carried with me not only a deep sense of tranquility but also a renewed respect for the delicate balance between human living and nature\u2019s wonders.<\/span><\/p>\n
